Ligia Paulina Cardenas, MD

Associate Professor/Clinical

Dr. Paulina Cardenas is an Associate Professor and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology.  She joined the faculty in January 2015 after ten years in private practice. 

Dr. Cardenas received her Bachelor in 1996 from Harvard-Radcliffe Colleges, Cambridge, MA. She received her M.D. degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, in 2000. Dr. Cardenas completed her Anesthesiology Residency program at Baylor College of Medicine in 2004 and then went onto complete her Fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesiology from Baylor College of Medicine in 2005. Dr. Cardenas is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
