Theodore V. Arevalo, MD, FACP

Associate Professor/Clinical

Dr. Theodore Arevalo is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in July 1998 after completing his Internal Medicine (1995), Aerospace Medicine (1995), and Hyperbaric Medicine (1997) residencies at Wilford Hall Medical Center on Lackland AFB. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in 1992 and also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology (graduating Summa Cum Laude) which he earned from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX in 1987.

Dr. Arevalo has flourished during his time with UT Health San Antonio, becoming an Associate Professor/Clinical in 2016. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including the "Top 20 Preceptor Award" (2012), "Outstanding Faculty Medicine Clerkship" (2011, 2012), the "Air Force Commendation Medal" (1998), "National Research Service Award" (1988), and NIH's "Minority Biomedical Research Support Award" (1984). Dr. Arevalo is a member of several professional organizations including the Society of Hospital Medicine, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians.
