Dr. Svatek is Pediatric hospitalist at University Hospital who focuses on resident and medical student education. The hospitalist position entails caring for sick children on the inpatient wards, providing moderate sedation for children requiring procedures, and caring for newborn infants. Dr. Svatek serves to improve the quality of care of children with asthma thru evidenced based care and advocacy - serving as medical advisor to the San Antonio Kids BREATHE program. This program seeks to improve the care of high risk children with asthma and assist with the social determinants of health that are affecting a child.
