Aaron R. Rossett, ACNP
Instructor/Clinical
Aaron Rossett graduated from the University of The Incarnate Word in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. He worked as a Registered Nurse with primary focus in cardiology and post-surgical care. Mr. Rossett later attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio for his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and advance practice certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2002.
He joined the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as a Nurse Practitioner with Interventional Cardiology in 2003. He transitioned to Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2005 where he currently practices. He obtained an additional certification in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner practice in 2011. Areas of care encompass inpatient and outpatient management for adult cardiac disease, adult thoracic disease and lung transplant. In addition to clinical responsibilities, he precepts Advance Practice Nursing students and provides lectures for the School of Nursing at the Health Science Center. He currently serves as the Director of the CT Surgery Department’s Mid-Level provider team. They are an exceptional group of dedicated professionals who benefit from his steadfast and nurturing role as their leader. In addition to his dedication to our patients and team, he serves as an outstanding father to his teenage daughter and is actively involved in her development as a young adult.
Interests include patient education and the collaboration with multidisciplinary personnel towards optimization of care and the efficient delivery of health care services.
