Dr. Medrano earned a baccalaureate in Biology from the University or Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus in 2000. He then attended medical school at Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He joined the department as Assistant Professor in July, 2008 after successfully completing his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency here. He served as a Veritas Faculty Advisor from 2012 to 2019. Dr. Medrano also serves as the Faculty Advisor for our OBGYN Interest Group and has mentored multiple medical students through the years. He is currently the Assistant OBGYN Clerkship Director. Dr. Medrano is members of multiple UT Health/UHS Committees. He is an ABOG Oral Board Examiner. His special interest are medical education as well mentoring medical students and residents.
