Director of South Texas Reference Laboratory

Wieslaw Furmaga obtained M.D. at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland in 1984. He trained in anatomic and clinical pathology at the Hartford Hospital in Hartford Connecticut where he also completed fellowships in Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Toxicology. He joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor at UTSW in May 2005 in the Division of Clinical Pathology with clinical focus in clinical chemistry. His investigational interests’ center around the pharmacogenomics and molecular characterization of physiological response to the pharmacological and toxicological component.
