I have been an RN for 31 years. I have vast experience in clinical skills and knowledge. I worked as a bedside nurse in both adult and pediatric radiation, hematology/oncology, and neurosurgical specialties. My main specialty for 13 years was Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant. I was hired at UT Health School of Nursing in 2008 as a clinical instructor and I am now an Assistant Professor/Clinical in Nursing since 2013. I am the Clinical Coordinator for Pediatrics for both the TBSN and ABSN undergraduate programs. I am the Clinical Coordinator for ABSN Adult Health Assessment since 2014. I also guest lecture in Pediatric didactics. I have been the UT Health, School of Nursing liaison for Vision & Hearing Screening Services for the Department of Health & Human Services in Austin, TX since 2010. I serve as a committee member for the bone marrow transplant unit on the Hospital Operating Board for the new UT Health Multispecialty & Research Hospital (MSRH). I served for 2 terms on COUS and APG committees. I serve on the Faculty Governance Committee for the UT Faculty Senate. I have attended Simulation Workshops and I perform Simulation for the undergraduate students. I believe my strengths and expertise are in the clinical setting and working with nursing students. Life-Learning has always been a constant with me.
