Stephen M Cox, PT, DPT

Dr. Stephen Cox graduated from Ohio University in 2005 with a doctorate in physical therapy. He is a licensed physical therapist and clinically, his interests are in athletic preparation, movement disorders, and biomechanics. Dr. Cox's certifications include: McKenzie (parts A, B), trigger point dry needling, Blood Flow Restriction (BFR), and Functional Movement Screening (FMS).
Dr. Cox has participated and lectured in multiple continuing education courses. He has served as a Clinical Instructor for 10 years and continues to mentor students ranging from high school students to physical therapy residents.
Dr. Cox believes that understanding the way a patient moves is the foundation in treating their symptoms. He develops individualized evidence-based plans of care for patients suffering from a variety of physical impairments limiting their mobility and/ or ability to perform activities of daily living. Exercise and implementation of movement-based activities are primary components of his patient’s plans of care.
