Nico-Al Gotera, DO, MPH
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Nico-Al Gotera is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in August 2023. Dr. Gotera earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 2014 as well as a Master of Science in Medical Sciences from the University of North Texas in Fort Worth, TX in 2015. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master of Public Health from Des Moines University in Des Moines, IA in 2020 before completing his Internal Medicine residency at MercyOne North Iowa (serving as Chief Resident from 2022 to 2023) in Mason City, IA in 2023. Dr. Gotera is a member of several professional organizations including the American Society of Hematology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Hospital Medicine, and the American College of Physicians. He is the recipient of several awards to include the Gold Humanism Honor Society Award (2019), Student Doctor of the Year (2018), Student Recognition for Service (2018), and the Recognition of Leadership Award (2018).
