Furkan Dursun, MD

Dr. Furkan Dursun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. He is also the Assistant Program Director for the Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship program. Dr. Dursun received his residency training at Gulhane Military Medical Academy in Istanbul, Turkey, followed by an intensive Society of Urologic Oncology-approved fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the University of Texas Health, San Antonio.
 
Dr. Dursun's clinical practice is focused on genitourinary cancers, with a special interest in laparoscopic and robotic urologic oncology, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, and benign prostate enlargement. He is especially interested about the use of image-guided interventions to diagnose and treat prostate cancer.
 
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dursun is an active member of several prestigious urology organizations, including the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO), the American Urological Association (AUA), and the European Association of Urology (EAU). He has authored numerous peer-reviewed academic journal publications and delivered many urologic presentations at national and international conferences.
