Deanna M. Savo, DNP, MSN, APRN, PNP-PC
Deanna Savo is an Assistant Professor/Clinical in the School of Nursing and is board certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in primary care (PNP-PC). She has dedicated her entire professional career to improving the health and well -being of pediatric patients and families. Dr. Savo has over 30 years’ experience working with underserved and vulnerable populations in both acute and chronic settings. Her passion is in pediatric oncology/bone marrow transplant. She has practiced in some of the top institutions in the nation in this specialty area and has received national certification. Research interests include immunization compliance focusing on increasing human papilloma vaccine rates among adolescents, childhood obesity, and bridging access to care by improving patient centered mental health services in pediatric primary care. Dr. Savo has precepted both undergraduate and graduate students throughout her career. Her teaching focuses on meeting the individual learning needs of each student, encouraging life-long education, and preparing students for the future of health care.
