Adam J. Yamin, LP, CCP
Cardiovascular Perfusionist
Mr. Adam Yamin’s interest in the medical field stems from a personal goal to help others and his interest in science, particularly the discipline of medicine. He began his medical career as a surgical technologist, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery and practiced that profession for 10 years. He continued toward his lifelong goal of advancing his medical knowledge, skills, and value as a team member.
To advance his goal, he attended the perfusion program at SUNY Upstate and graduated in May 2011. Upon graduating, Mr. Yamin joined UT Health in June of 2011 as a staff member caring for adult patients. After a short time, he was trained into the pediatric specialty. He also received training as surgical first assist in 2015 at Meridian Institute of Surgical Assisting.
Since then Mr. Yamin has excelled through the ranks and now functions as Associate Chief and leads the pediatric perfusion service. He works in concert with his perfusion colleagues and other medical disciplines daily to provide the best patient care possible. Adam provides crucial life support in nearly every setting, (ie.,Cardiopulmonary Bypass, ECMO, and Ventricle Assist Devices). He also provides an additional service to his faculty surgeons as a first assist, specializing in venous conduit harvesting. Mr. Yamin is also a clinical preceptor for perfusion students.
Mr. Yamin provides much needed support by ensuring that adequate supplies are available and mechanical equipment is prepared for patient care. He is a strong advocate for both patient care and fiscal responsibility to our University Hospital partners.
