I am an academic clinical gastroenterologist working since 2011 primarily at University Hospital and at the Robert B. Green campus of University Health System, where I play key roles in both patient care and educational training in consultative and endoscopic gastroenterology. I am experienced in upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy including colon cancer screening and complex polyp removal. In addition, I perform balloon-assisted small bowel enteroscopy offered as a tertiary referral service to the San Antonio and South Texas community. My other expertise include video capsule endoscopy, GI motility studies including esophageal manometry and whole gut motility, esophageal pH testing, hydrogen breath testing, Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), and general gastroenterology including diseases of the liver, esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon. I am active in training GI fellows and a member of the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson High Risk Cancer Genetics Screening Team.
