Carole White, PhD, RN, FAAN
Professor
Currently seeking Ph.D. students
My program of science is focused on improving outcomes for those with chronic progressive neurological conditions and their family caregivers. I serve on the team of the Caring for the Caregiver Program at UT Health San Antonio, School of Nursing, having previously served as Director. The mission of the program is to support the health and quality of life of families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Through extensive work with the community in identifying the strengths and gaps in care, we have developed a program that is responding to the needs of caregivers in South Texas. Using a community-engaged approach, we are expanding the Caring for the Caregiver program to address heath care disparities for Latino families impacted by dementia. Through my work, I mentor undergraduate and graduate students, building capacity for research and translating research to practice in the care of older adults.
