Major Program Development/Architect
- 2020 Validated Assessment Program for Operational Readiness (VAPOR)
- 59MDW/SGO has developed a unique DOD medical proving ground leveraging JBSA's strength, its deployers, to iteratively improve operational medical readiness through a positive-feedback process improvement loop.
- VAPOR leverages commanders' demand for higher quality and more efficient readiness activities (CMRP/ICTL) to attract UTC-based personnel to a high fidelity readiness sustainment research model which aspires to achieve four outcomes of interest:
- Lowering costs
- Reduction in time spent on sustainment
- Improved rates of readiness
- Perpetually ready medics
- Each iteration of VAPOR will yield:
- A more effective deployer
- increasing the deployer's time immersed in clinical currency.
- 2017 HCE RESTOR/AEGIS Directed Energy Laboratory
- Mission: Research and development of innovative technologies for the evaluation and mitigation of auditory and neurological effects resulting from unique unconventional exposures that impact the advancement of regenerative medicine, medical countermeasures, and diagnostics for improving clinical outcomes.
- Key Technologies: Advanced Molecular, Immunological, Genetic, and Neurophysiological Analysis: Immune cell isolation; DNA, RNA, and Protein extraction; ELISA, Luminex, Flow cytometric analysis; Western blot; PCR, Real-time PCR; RNA transcriptome; Microarray; Neurophysiology; Immunohistochemistry / Immunofluorescence
- Research: Human organoids and organ-on-a chip research on auditory and traumatic brain injury; Stem cell regenerative exosomes application for regenerative medicine and unconventional trauma; Theranostic nanomedicine-based strategies for directed energy resilience; Development of medical countermeasure and diagnostic sensors; Translation of basic research discovery into clinical therapy.
- Education: Building up a medical research training platform for resident, medical and college students.
- Vision: Development and evaluation of innovative technologies for the advancement of regenerative medicine, medical countermeasures, and clinical diagnostics.
- 2017 Clinician Scientist Investigator Opportunity Nexus (CSION)
- CSION takes clinicians who have demonstrated an aptitude for research and teaches them how to effectively navigate the DoD research funding, regulatory, and acquisitions process thereby transforming them into highly productive military clinical research leaders who prepare the military for the medical challenges it will face in future environments.
