Jinjiao Wang, RN, PhD
Professor
Dr. Jinjiao Wang is a nurse scientist, educator, and innovator dedicated to transforming home- and community-based care for older adults. Her interdisciplinary research bridges clinical relevance with systems innovation, advancing geriatric care through data science and intervention design. She has secured over $1.6 million in funding from federal and national organizations, including a prestigious Beeson K76 Career Development Award from the National Institute on Aging. Dr. Wang leads and contributes to multiple high-impact projects focused on medication safety and optimization, supported by the U.S. Deprescribing Research Network, AHRQ, and the Alliance for Home Health Quality and Innovation.
With nearly 50 peer-reviewed publications and over 40 national and international presentations, Dr. Wang is a recognized voice in aging and health services research. As Co-Editor-in-Chief of JMIR Aging, she has elevated the journal to a #1 ranking in gerontology (1/57, Clarivate metrics in 2024 and 2025). Her leadership reflects a deep commitment to advancing nursing science and improving the lives of older adults. Now at UT Health San Antonio, Dr. Wang is poised to expand her impact by collaborating across disciplines and leveraging the institution’s world-class aging research infrastructure.
