Owais N. Syed, MD
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Owais Syed is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in July 2023. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Psychology from Rice University in Houston, TX in 2016. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX in 2016 before going on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD in 2023. Dr. Syed is the recipient of the Rice University Emergency Medical Service Hero Award (2016) as well as the Presidential Service Award, Bronze Level (2016-2017) and is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and the American College of Gastroenterology.
