Theresa Stewart, MD

Dr. Stewart received her Bachelor of Science in Physiology from Michigan State University in 1987. She then completed medical school at Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan in 1991.  Dr. Stewart did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB in San Antonio Texas and then completed her fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a Fellowship in Clinical Genetics at Tufts University/ New England Medical Center in Boston Massachusetts in 1999. Dr. Stewart served active duty in the US Air Force at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB until 2005. Dr. Stewart then practiced Maternal-Fetal Medicine in private practice for many years in San Antonio, TX until joining the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio as an Associate Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Stewart is also a reservist in the USAF. Dr. Stewart’s current interests include genetic disorders, the use of ultrasound in the practice of high-risk obstetrics, prenatal diagnosis and teaching.
