Patricia A. Simpson, Ph.D, APRN, ANP-BC
Assistant Professor/Clinical
With a strong belief in the power of health promotion and disease prevention, my focus for over 20 years as an Adult Nurse Practitioner has been on collaborating with patients, and their families, in ensuring a holistic approach to their health care. A diverse clinical background, which includes women’s health, indigent patient care, family and internal medicine practice, and most recently, geriatrics, helps me continue to grow as a provider while offering evidenced based care to my adult patients. I also have the privilege of utilizing my knowledge and experience as a clinician in the academic realm, providing real world experience to students in family and acute care nurse practitioner programs. Teaching in various advanced nursing courses from health assessment to core program offerings has taught me the value of helping students draw from their own nursing experiences while incorporating new knowledge and experience for the advanced practice role.
