Bianca Shieu, PhD, RN

Dr. Shieu earned her Ph.D. from the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing, where she was a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Scholar, and subsequently served as a Magee-Womens Research Institute Postdoctoral Fellow. Following her selection as a 2024 NIA Butler-Williams Scholar, she is currently a 2026 K07 Fellow of the University of Minnesota Advanced Behavioral Intervention Design Consortium. Dr. Shieu’s clinical and research expertise focuses on older adults, particularly those managing obesity and dementia in nursing homes and diverse community settings. Her broad research initiatives aim to enhance patient and caregiver quality of life. Additionally, she holds specialized certifications in auricular therapy and auricular medicine. Dr. Shieu is presently advancing two lines of research focused on caregivers of persons living with dementia: a web-based, caregiver-delivered auricular acupressure program and CIRCLE, an eHealth bilingual psychoeducation program.
