Kinza S. Shamsi, M.D.

Nephrology Specialist

Dr. Shamsi is a Specialist in the Division of Nephrology at UT Health Science Center. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2014 and her Nephrology fellowship at the UT Health Science Center San Antonio in 2016.
Her academic interests include women’s health, pregnancy and kidney disease, and chronic kidney disease. Dr. Shamsi strives to build collaborative relationships with her patients through application of self-management support skills such as motivating, listening and coaching to inspire patients to be active participants in their health. She also values appropriate and effective communication among the members of the health care team with an aim to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction.
