Dimpy P. Shah, M.D., Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
My research program focuses on multi-institutional collaborations for utilization of existing databases and biorepositories, development of outcome prediction algorithms, and examination of host-microbe-environment relationship to improve cancer prevention and survivorship. I have ongoing programs of research in various areas of cancer epidemiology and risk assessment, including descriptive studies, viral studies, occupational exposures, general environmental exposures, tobacco use and lifestyle factors, immunoepidemiology, genetic susceptibility, and microbiome-metabolome interactions. In addition to my research activity, I serve as Advisory Council Member for Texas Cancer Registry; Member of Shared Resources Oversight Committee; Founding Member of Respiratory Viral Infection Consortium; Member of Hepatocellular Carcinoma Epidemiology Consortium; and Steering Committee Member and Co-Lead of Epidemiology/Statistics committee for COVID19 and Cancer Consortium (CCC19).
