Hari P Sayana, M.D.

Assistant Professor/Clinical

Director, Advanced Endoscopy Research

Hari Sayana, MBBS, MD, an assistant professor in the Department of Gastroenterology and Advanced Endoscopy at UT Health San Antonio, received his medical training at Guntur Medical College in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India and his internal medicine residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansa City, Missouri. He completed fellowships in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Missouri -Kansas City and an additional fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.

    Published peer-reviewed abstracts & publications in refractory gastro-esophageal reflux disease & its complications, Barrett’s esophagus (advanced imaging, & radiofrequency ablation, endoscopic mucosal resection), gallstones/bile duct stones, biliary stricture, occult GI bleeding/small bowel bleeding, prevention of post ERCP pancreatitis, alcoholic hepatitis & colon cancer screening.

    Research includes mgmt of chronic pancreatitis , pancreatic cancer screening in high-risk individuals, of acute pancreatitis/acute necrotizing pancreatitis, colon cancer screening, surveillance & prevention, therapeutic ERCP/EUS & endoscopic post-surgical/bariatric/liver transplant complications.
