Umber A Salman, M.D.
Vice Chair Clinical Operations
Dr. Salman's association with UTHSCSA has been a long and gratifying journey, giving her the opportunity to work alongside some very humble, brilliant minds who continue to inspire her as well as many others each day.
Dr. Salman started her post graduate medical training with an internship at State University of New York at Buffalo. She then moved to University of Texas Health San Antonio, where she completed residencies in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology and then stayed on as a faculty in the Department of Radiology.
Dr. Salman is dual board certified, both in Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Radiology. She is currently the section director for Nuclear Medicine, Department of Radiology where she oversees the University Hospital as well Medical Arts and Research Centers Nuclear Medicine clinical services. She is involved in resident and fellow teaching.
Her interest is in Nuclear Oncology includes molecular imaging with PET-CT as well as in Theranostics which are receptor based targeted therapies for specific tumor types.
Dr. Salman is the Medical Director for UT Health Medical Arts and Research Center and the Hill Country Imaging Centers. Our goals for these centers are to provide advanced imaging to deliver excellence in patient care.
