Brian Sager, MD was born and raised in Odessa, TX where he attended Permian High School and graduated as Valedictorian. He then attended Texas Tech University where he graduated summa cum laude and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering where he was elected the Most Outstanding Engineering Student. Dr. Sager then went on to obtain his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center/Parkland Hospital where he was elected chief resident and was awarded the Resident Teaching Award. During his training he developed a profound interest in Hand Surgery. Dr. Sager then completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the prestigious New York University Medical Center, training under several world-renowned experts in Hand Surgery.
Dr. Sager then returned to his native West Texas where he worked in private practice in Abilene, Texas, honing his surgical skills and gaining invaluable experience treating medically underserved patients. He provides comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for a wide array of hand and upper extremity conditions including both operative and non-operative treatments for hand and upper extremity trauma, peripheral nerve issues, hand and wrist arthritis, tendon and ligamentous pathologies and deformities about the hand and wrist. His goal is to develop individualized treatment plans aimed at restoring function and mobility. Outside of work Dr. Sager enjoys traveling the world, hiking, sports, food and spending time with his wife Cara and his daughter Emma.
