Leila Saadatpour, MD
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Leila Saadatpour is an Assistant Professor of Neurology specialized in Movement Disorders with particular interests in deep brain stimulation (DBS) and micro-electrode recording (MER). She received her medical degree from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran. She completed two years of a postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Florida where she did several of studies on dopaminergic transmission in Parkinson’s patients with a focus on DBS. She completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and her fellowship in Movement Disorders at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. During her Fellowship, she continued training in various procedural skills including botulinum toxin injections and MER. As an Edmond J. Safra fellow, she participated in multiple clinical research studies mostly with a focus on Parkinson’s disease. One of her main projects was focused on clinical and genetic factors that affect response to amantadine in Parkinson’s patients who suffer from dyskinesia which she has presented in national and international conferences. Dr. Saadatpour has published over 15 peer reviewed-articles and book chapters. She also remains active in teaching medical students and residents.
