Laura M Rosenkranz, M.D.

Associate Professor/Clinical

Program Director, Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship

Dr. Laura Rosenkranz is currently an Associate Professor of Medicine, she joined UT Health San Antonio faculty in 2009. A graduate of the gastroenterologist fellowship program in 2006 at the UT Health Science Center. Dr. Rosenkranz spent a couple of years in private practice before returned in 2008 as the inaugural fellow in the advanced endoscopy training program, focused on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Rosenkranz is heavily involved in the development of the UT Health San Antonio's rapidly expanding program in advanced endoscopy, which in addition to longstanding activities at the Veterans Affairs and University Health System now includes a pancreatic clinic at the Medical Arts and Research Center and a major new pediatric and adult ERCP/EUS program.

    I was charged by the Division Chief with monitoring the progress of all trainee research in the Division and coordinating the matching of trainees to research projects and mentors, for GI fellows, Internal Medicine residents and medical students.

    I serve as Treasurer. The Women‘s Faculty Association promotes networking opportunities, workshops on career development, and programs on issues relative to women, as well as providing Leadership Awards to students in all five schools of the HSC and at the Alamo Regional Science fair.

    07/2012-Present - Longitudinal Preceptorship Program for the first year Medical Students - Member
    I arranged continuous clinical exposure and mentorship each year, starting in 2012, for two- three medical students. Students visited with me in clinics monthly, observing and learning clinical care. In addition, independently, under my direct supervision, the students obtained medical histories, performed physical examinations and presented their findings while generating a list of differential diagnoses.
