Rekha Rajesh, BDS, MPH

Dr. Rekha Rajesh has over two decades of clinical experience in multiple care settings, she has cultivated a deep understanding of patient-centered dental care. Dr. Rajesh professional journey began as a general dentist in Tamil Nadu, India, where she managed a private practice providing comprehensive restorative and preventive services. She also worked as an Associate general dentist with the Oral surgeons in a trauma care team. After relocating to the United States, Dr. Rajesh transitioned into dental hygiene and worked in private practice, building strong rapport to support treatment adherence and promote long-term oral health.

Concurrently, Dr. Rajesh worked with a Geriatric Mobile Dental practice providing mobile dental care to elderly individuals in long-term care settings focusing mail on preventive oral health care services. This role involved adapting care techniques for patients with dementia and physical limitations, collaborating with caregivers, and ensuring accessible dental services for vulnerable populations. In addition to her clinical experience, she served in an academic capacity as faculty in the Dental Hygiene Division within the Department of Periodontics at UT Health San Antonio. In this role, she was actively involved in didactic and clinical instruction, mentoring dental hygiene students, and contributing to curriculum development. As the Senior Clinic Coordinator, she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the dental hygiene clinic, ensuring smooth coordination between students, faculty, and support staff. This leadership experience deepened her understanding of dental education, clinical operations, and interprofessional collaboration, further reinforcing my commitment to advancing oral health through both education and practice.
