Professor

Dr. Price is Professor of Biostatistics and Psychometrics at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio). Dr. Price holds the Accredited Professional Statistician designation from the American Statistical Association and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association (Division 5 – Quantitative Methods, Measurement & Statistics). 

His research integrates sophisticated psychometric modeling, Bayesian inferential methods, network psychometrics, and structural equation modeling with a sustained focus on translational neuroscience and psychiatric research. He has served as a Biostatistician or Senior Statistician on multiple NIH-funded projects at UT Health San Antonio's Research Imaging Institute, including those involving resting-state fMRI, thalamic connectivity in epilepsy, network alterations in comorbid chronic pain and opioid addiction, and structural brain changes in PTSD. 

Dr. Price directs the BDSC Core for this Conte Center, overseeing all analytical structures, cross-species harmonization strategies, and the development of statistical procedures. He is the author of Psychometric Methods: Theory into Practice (Guilford, 2016; Second edition targeted for 2027; Turkish Edition, First edition, 2021) and has contributed over 120 peer-reviewed publications spanning applied and theoretical psychometrics, statistics, neuroimaging, biometrics, clinical trials, and translational neuroscience.
