Alixandria Pfeiffer, DO

Dr. Alixandria Fiore Pfeiffer received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and History, from Marywood University in 2015. She was a four-year starter on their NCAA Women’ Soccer Team and led the team as captain her senior year. She attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where she received her medical degree in 2019. In medical school, she was heavily involved in advocacy and served as the National Director of Omega Beta Iota, the National Osteopathic Political Honor Society, working intimately with national organizations such as the AOA, AACOM, OPAC, etc. as a liaison between these groups and medical students over national topics such as the student debt crisis. She ultimately was awarded Medical Student of the Year at NSU during her final year and was awarded an honorable mention (second place) in the National Student of the Year award.

She completed her residency training at the University of Texas Health San Antonio in 2023. During residency, her research focused on maternal-fetal physiologic changes in maternal transport, implementing a quality improvement project on the prevention of postpartum pre-eclampsia, and a graduate medical education project centered on resident mistreatment in the workplace. She presented her work at local, state, and national conferences and published in several journals. She was awarded the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine Resident
Scholar Award. She also served as the sole resident-fellow member on the Board of Trustees in the Texas Medical Association, UT House Staff Council President/Secretary, and ACOG Junior Fellow District XI Section V Vice Chair/Chair.  

She is a member of ACOG, SMFM, and TMA. Dr. Pfeiffer joined the faculty as a Specialist and is currently completing her fellowship training in Maternal Fetal Medicine. She has recently taken a position on the SMFM Health Policy & Advocacy Committee and has been selected to be part of the UT LSOM Health Systems Science Distinction Track. Her clinical and research interests include maternal transport, maternal critical care medicine, maternal morbidity/mortality quality improvement, prevention of preterm birth/abdominal cerclage, health systems science, and resident education.

Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, family, and friends, doing all things beach-related, soccer, and sports-related, traveling (especially adventures off the beaten path!), and exploring new places with her adorable dog, Frankie!
