Julie K Peterson-Newman, PhD, RN
Assistant Professor/Clinical
I began my nursing career at the bedside in critical care. After more than a decade in acute care nursing, I transitioned into nursing education at UT Health San Antonio. After teaching for many years, my interests lie in fundamentals of clinical nursing practice, including application of the nursing process framework and content facilitation with simulation. My research interests include cognitive functioning in patients with cardiovascular diseases, health related quality-of-life, and use of existing big data base to guide future research.
