Ms. Peterson received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1987. After graduation, she took a position at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, working in the Spinal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, and the Pediatric Transport Team. In 1989 Ms. Peterson moved to Texas, to attend the nurse anesthesia program at Baylor College of Medicine - Houston, where she received her Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia in 1991. After graduation, she remained in Houston, where her work experience included private practice and MD Anderson Cancer Center. In 2000, she moved to San Antonio with her family, taking a position at UT Health, where she has been Assistant Chief since 2014. She then received her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Anesthesia from Baylor College of Medicine-Houston in 2013. Ms. Peterson is board certified through the National Certification and Recertification Board of Nurse Anesthetists.
