Collin Pehde, DPM
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Pehde is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in the Department of Orthopaedics, Division of Podiatry at UT Health San Antonio. He serves as the Director of the Amputation Prevention and Research Fellowship.
Dr. Pehde graduated with a degree in Health Services Organization and Policy from Wichita State University. He then attended medical school at Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, earning the Graduate with Distinction. He then completed a podiatric medicine residency at The West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a podiatric surgical residency at West Houston Medical Center in Houston, Texas and a limb deformity internship at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Pehde focuses his practice on the treatment of the diabetic foot. This encompasses preventive high risk diabetic foot care, acute and chronic wound management and advanced foot and ankle orthoplastic reconstructive surgery to prevent major limb amputation.
Dr. Pehde is dedicated to teaching the next generation of podiatric physicians, including medical students, residents, and fellows. His research interests include advancements in medical and surgical diabetic foot treatments producing positive patient outcomes and implementing 3D printing techniques for diagnostic and patient care.
