Dr. Guy W. Nicolette is an Associate Professor at UT Health San Antonio and serves as the current Director of Sports Medicine for the San Antonio Spurs. His clinical interests include lower extremity injury, tendinopathy, orthobiologis, diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Dr. Nicolette did his residency and sports medicine fellowship at University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He then became the team physician and eventually fellowship director at the University of Florida until 2019, helping train ~30 fellows in primary care sports medicine, sports ultrasound and orthobiologics, many of whom have gone on to cover a wide range of high school, collegiate, Olympic, and professional teams. From 2019-2023, he served as the Executive Director and athletics team physician at University of California Berkeley (Cal) Health Center. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
He is active member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, and has published on tendinopathy, foot and ankle disorders and a variety of sports-medicine related topics.
