Sribalasubashini Muralimanoharan, Ph.D.

Instructor - Research

Currently seeking M.S. students

My Scientific career has been devoted to study the molecular mechanism in developmental biology and regulation of key genes in perinatal biology and female reproduction.                                                                                                                                                               Previously I have been investigating the role of miRNA in placental development and function. We were the first group to report the miRNA mediated regulation of mitochondrial function in the placenta, we have found several transcription factors that play a key role in pathogenies of placental dysfunction during pregnancy related complications such as preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and maternal obesity.  Currently I am involved in understanding the role of MED12 mutation mediated replication stress and genomic instbility in the uterine fibroids .
