Title Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc./ Emergency Medicine Residency Program Status Active Period 7/2013 - 6/2019 Role Principal Investigator Grant Detail The spirit of the grant is to address the health professional shortage in San Antonio and South Texas by graduating physicians prepared to serve in emergency settings, while retaining more emergency-prepared physicians in the local area. I have been part of obtaining and maintaining this award since we first received the award in 2013. We have had continuation of this award on now 1-year intervals since that time. We are currently in grant cycle of 7/1/2018-6/30/2019 with an award amount of $195,000. I was involved with the initial grant application that has now resulted in over $900,00 in funding since that time. I have been the PI for the grant for the last 3 years and have been directly responsible for >$500,000 in funding.
