Jason D Morrow, M.D.
Associate Professor
Dr. Morrow is an Associate Professor of Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, where he is also the Howard and Betty Halff Professor of Medical Humanities & Ethics. Dr. Morrow is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He graduated with a BS in Biology and a BA in Philosophy from Trinity University in San Antonio and took his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he also received his PhD in Medical Humanities with a focus on Clinical Ethics. Dr. Morrow completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. He then joined the faculty at Duke University where he was an academic hospitalist and Medical Director for Palliative Care at Duke Regional Hospital. He is the 2012 recipient of the Cunniff-Dixon Physician Award and the 2013 recipient of the Alpha Omega Alpha Edward D. Harris Professionalism Award. Dr. Morrow was founding Medical Director for Palliative Care Inpatient Consultation at University Health System from 2011-2020. He helps to lead the Ethics curriculum for the Long School of Medicine and teaches Ethics and Palliative Medicine to medical students, residents, and faculty on campus and around the country. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and kids and dogs, and hiking around San Antonio and the Texas hill country.
