Dr. Misra completed his undergraduate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in chemical and electrical engineering and computer sciences in 2008 and went on to receive his MD, PhD at the University of Michigan with thesis emphasis on Multicompartmental Carriers for Medical Applications.  He received his surgical training at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston as a general surgery resident, which instilled in him a love for transplant surgery.  He completed his Surgery Fellowship in Abdominal Organ Transplantation and Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic in both the adult and pediatric population at University of Southern California under Dr. Navpreet Kaur and Dr. Linda Sher.  In addition to his clinical training at USC he was the recipient of two competitive research grants and collaborated with members of the Viterbi School of engineering to develop an extracorporeal artificial liver assist device.  He has a strong history in research with numerous publications, abstracts, and presentations.   Dr. Misra has a passion for learning, an enthusiasm for mentoring and an intense sense of responsibility to his patients in the operating room, hospital and clinics.
