Dr. Kimberly Kone Ellis began seeing patients at UT Health Physicians Medical Drive Primary Care Center in August of 2016. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at UT Health San Antonio, and enjoys helping her patients as well as mentoring medical students. She has special interests in primary preventative medicine, chronic disease management, pediatric and adolescent health care, and women’s healthcare including gynecology and contraceptive management. She strongly supports the values of a patient centered medical home as well as an evolving partnership between patient and physician to help achieve optimal patient care.
Dr. Ellis is originally from Amarillo, TX. She attended college at Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science. She attended medical school at St. George’s School of Medicine in Grenada and completed her clinical clerkships in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her residency in Family and Community Medicine at University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, where she also served as Chief Resident . She became a mom to boy/girl twins in June of 2019 and loves spending time with her family. She also is an avid runner and enjoys sporting events and cooking.
