Ahmad Kheirkhah, MD

Assistant Professor/Clinical

Dr. Kheirkhah completed his medical education, ophthalmology residency, and fellowship in Cornea and External Disease in Iran. After a 3-year fellowship in Ocular Surface Disease in Miami, Florida, his practice and research have been focused mostly on cornea and ocular surface disorders, especially dry eye disease, ocular burns, and conjunctival cicatricial disorders. Dr. Kheirkhah was an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and an Investigator at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in 2013-2017. In 2018, he joined UT Health San Antonio and currently he is the Director of Cornea Service and the holder of Stanley I. Glickman, MD, Endowed Chair. Dr. Kheirkhah has published more than 110 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. He also has given numerous presentations in various national and international conferences. Dr. Kheirkhah is a recipient of the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as numerous awards form different sources.
