Arpitha Kamala Nanjappa, MD
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Arpitha Nanjappa is a published, board-certified Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio as an Assistant Professor/Clinical in October 2022. Dr. Nanjappa earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center in Bangalore India in 2014 before going on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY in 2022. She has served the population on numerous occasions by volunteering her time with National Pulse Polio Immunization Program and the Multiple Educational & Health Awareness campaigns with Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center.

Research & Grants
09/2016-08/2017: Worked with Dr. Daya Upadhyay at UCSF- Fresno on a research project LOTS (left over tissue specimen) study to identify molecular biomarkers for non-small cell lung cancer. This research on PIK3CA mutation in Lung Cancer resulted in a Publication that was presented at the International Conference of American Thoracic Society in 2017.
