Assistant Professor
Dr. Kallberg’s research focuses on the clinical applications of musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSKUS) in rehabilitation, with particular emphasis on its role in managing hemophilia-related joint disease and other complex musculoskeletal conditions. He is actively engaged in multi-center investigations assessing the effects of novel therapies—such as emicizumab—on joint and bone health in individuals with severe hemophilia A. Dr. Kallberg’s work aims to bridge clinical practice and education through the advancement of point-of-care imaging, and he regularly contributes to collaborative publications and conference presentations at national and international forums.
Nationally and internationally, Dr. Kallberg is a recognized educator in musculoskeletal ultrasound and hemophilia rehabilitation. He has presented at the World Federation of Hemophilia Congress, the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Summit of North America, and various CDC-supported regional meetings. His research portfolio includes collaborative studies on joint health in patients with hemophilia, heterotopic ossification, and the integration of diagnostic ultrasound into physical therapy education.
Dr. Kallberg is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Orthopedic Section’s Imaging Special Interest Group, the Texas Physical Therapy Association, and the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society.
