Dajung Jun, PhD, MA

Dr. Dajung Jun is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Health Services Administration at the University of Texas at San Antonio School of Public Health. She is a health economist whose research spans health economics, labor economics, and public economics, with a focus on how public policies affect health outcomes, health care utilization, and economic well-being. Before joining UT San Antonio School of Public Health, Dr. Jun was an Assistant Professor in the College of Business at Husson University and a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Michigan State University and her B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Her research has been published in leading journals such as the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Health Economics, Social Science & Medicine, American Journal of Health Economics, and BMJ Open. Her recent projects examine the effects of Medicaid expansion on Medicare beneficiaries, the consequences of opioid policies on health and housing outcomes, and the impacts of insurance coverage transitions on young adults’ health. She has extensive expertise in working with claims data and nationally representative survey data.

Dr. Jun has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in health care management, health economics, economic geography, and introductory economics.
