Xueqiu Jian, PhD

I am a genetic epidemiologist with a background in medicine and public health. My research focuses on genetic factors that contribute to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD) and on understanding the biological processes through which these factors influence disease risk. My work examines genetic variation and related biological measures in large, well-characterized human populations to better understand the causes and risk factors for AD/ADRD. I am actively involved in several major collaborative Alzheimer’s disease genetics studies, including the Cohorts for Heart and Aging Research in Genomic Epidemiology (CHARGE) consortium, Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP), Trans-Omics for Precision Medicine (TOPMed) program, Texas Alzheimer’s Research and Care Consortium (TARCC), International Genomics of Alzheimer’s Project (IGAP), and UK Biobank.
