My interest remains to use DNA repair pathway as a therapeutic target for the intervention of cancer treatment. A new and emerging concept is to sensitize cancer cells to DNA-damaging agents by inhibiting the DNA repair pathways to promote cancer cell death. Since, most of the drugs either require high dose or acquire resistance during the course of the treatment. Therefore, we used small molecular compounds in combination with existing drugs to further sensitize the cancer cells and improve the efficacy of these drugs and minimize the non-specific effects.
