Rudy Izzard, DDS

Dr. Izzard is a dentist with advanced training in sedation and anesthesia, bringing over four decades of experience in clinical practice, hospital dentistry, and dental education. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin (1980) and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Baylor College of Dentistry (1984). He further specialized in anesthesia through a fellowship at the University of Indiana Medical Center (2017–2018).
Dr. Izzard served as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (2015–2017), where he taught comprehensive patient care and sedation techniques. His private practice career (1984–2023) emphasized sedation and anesthesia for patients with special needs, along with a broad scope of restorative, surgical, implant, and hospital-based dentistry.
Board-certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS), he maintains an active Texas dental license (#14200) and holds staff privileges at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, Texas. His academic and clinical interests center on safe and effective anesthesia delivery for complex and special needs patient populations.
