Ali Ismail, MD
Assistant Professor/Clinical
Dr. Ali Ismail is a Hospitalist who joined UT Health San Antonio in July 2025 as an Assistant Professor/Clinical. He earned his MBBS from the University of Medical Sciences and Technology (UMST) in Sudan in 2014 before going on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in 2025. Dr. Ismail also completed several years of medical training in the United Kingdom at Northampton General Hospital, the University Hospitals at Leicester, James Cook University Hospital, and Saffron Walden Hospital.
Dr. Ismail is the recipient of several accolades including Southeast Pennsylvania ACP Darilyn Moyer's "MD Professional Award" (2024), Pennsylvania Hospital's "Intern of the Year" (2023), and Northampton General Hospital's "Outstanding Achievement Award" (2019). He is a member of several professional organizations including The Royal College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the Sudanese American Physicians Association.
