Associate Professor/Clinical
Dr. Megan Freeman is a published, board-certified Associate Professor/Clinical providing Hospitalist services with UT Health San Antonio at the South Texas Veterans' Healthcare System since 2014. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2010 before going on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at the same institution in 2013, serving as Chief Resident from 2013-2014.
Dr. Freeman serves as the Systems of Care Didactic and Quality Improvement/Patient Care Curriculum Director as well as the Associate Clerkship Director for Internal Medicine. She also teaches students as the Synthesis Case Facilitator and was awarded the 2023 Division of Hospital Medicine "Educator of the Year Award", nominated by her peers as a star teacher, educator, and mentor for medical students and residents; she has also received the "Outstanding Faculty in Medicine Clerkship" award (2019, 2017), "Resident Mentorship Program Outstanding Faculty Mentor" (2016), "Resident of the Year" (2013), "Outstanding Resident in Medicine Clerkship" (2012), and "Outstanding Intern in Medicine Clerkship" (2011). Dr. Freeman is board-certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Academic Alliance of Internal Medicine and is a member of several professional organizations including American College of Physicians, Alpha Omega Alpha, and the Academic Alliance for Internal Medicine.
