Maiara Hister-Cockrell, DDS, FADI, FPFA
Associate Professor/Clinical
Dr. Hister-Cockrell received her Dental of Surgery Degree from the University of Porto Alegre, PUCRS, Brazil in 1991. She has completed a Fellowship and received Certificates for Implantology and Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD), from Baylor College of Dentistry, where she was also a faculty member.
She received a Certificate in Orthodontics from PUCRS, Brazil, when in private practice as well.
Dr. Hister-Cockrell is an Associate Professor/Clinical in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry at the UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry.
She is the Operative Course Director for first- and second-year dental students and Clinical faculty for third- and fourth-year dental students.
Dr. Hister-Cockrell is also a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International and has been elected a Fellow of the International Honor Dental Organization, Piere Fauchard Academy (FPFA). She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).
Dr. Hister-Cockrell is a member of the ITI International Team for Implantology and the ITI San Antonio Study Club. She was also former member of the Regional Counsel of Odontology (CRO) , Orthodontic Society in Brazil and Academy of Osseointegration.
