Russell Aaron Higgins, M.D.
Professor/Clinical
Dr. Higgins is a board certified anatomic and clinical pathologist with subspecialty training and certification in hematopathology. He is the medical director of University Health System Pathology Services, and his clinical duties include the full spectrum of hematopathology. In addition to routine diagnostics, he supports a laboratory hemostasis consultation service for the surrounding areas. His clinical and translational research includes laboratory hemostasis, with a focus on quality and standardization. Dr. Higgins is a contributor to the Tietz Textbook of Clinical Chemistry and Molecular Diagnostics and has served on the College of American Pathologists’ Hemostasis and Thrombosis Committee, Instrumentation Committee, and Continuous Compliance Committee.
